Events and Festivals in Ecuador

Ecuador, a beautiful South American country, has a wonderful calendar of events and festivities. Being dominated by the Roman Catholic religion, the country mainly follows the liturgical calendar and combines pageantry with the traditional Indian fiesta.

The people of Ecuador simply enjoy partying hard with bumping music, dressing beautifully, participating in beauty contests, dancing and drinking on the streets, playing games such as bull fighting, rooster fighting and firecrackers can be seems in a number of events. For visitors, it is recommended to attend fiestas when fun never ends.

The biggest partying time falls in the month of February, a week before Lent that includes the best known Ecuadorian water fights in which no one gets spared. The next celebration starts on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter which is known by the name, Semana Santa. Religious processions are characterized during this week all over the streets.

Ecuador is indeed a country which is full of colorful events and festivals.
